Tips

The following suggestions will help the men's formalwear process to go smoothly...

  • Let a professional do the measuring.
It is important that tuxedo measurements be taken at a tuxedo store. Tux shops take specific measurements that transfer easily. Measurements are complimentary at all tuxedo shops so take advantage of this free service. While you are there, try on a coat for accurate sizing. Formalwear fits differently from you usual clothes so don't assume you can fill in those little measurement cards yourself. Sloppy measurements ensures you will need alterations, which will cause a delay in the process. Spending the time to do this in your hometown will give you more time to play in Tahoe.
All selections, measurements and payment are due three weeks prior to your wedding.

We need all measurements and payment three weeks prior to the wedding. How can you make this happen? Fib to your groomsmen! You know the ones who will procrastinate and make you crazy so tell 'em it's five weeks.
  • Take the shoes!
If you leave it up to your groomsmen, you'll have a collection of mismatched footwear. Do you really want to look at your pictures ten years from now and see those loafers, cowboy boots and sneakers? You can be sure your photographer will capture that image. It is worth the extra few dollars for a uniform look.
  • Try on the tuxedo before you leave the shop to ensure you have the correct fit.
We strongly encourage you to try on your tuxedo before you leave the shop and have your groomsmen do the same. If a groomsman takes a tuxedo without trying it on and puts it on for the first time the morning of the wedding and then discovers that he has a problem, it is difficult for us to do anything to help at that time. Trying on the tux in our shop allows us to make changes or alterations ahead of time, and eliminates last minute emergencies. After 3 p.m. on Friday we cannot guarantee exchanges on tuxedos ordered from an outside source due to inaccurate measurements. Fittings are usually done on Thursdays and Fridays for weekend weddings or events.

Tahoe offers many opportunities for fun... golfing, skiing, boating, gambling... and we respect your desire to participate. We hope you will respect us by encouraging your guys to come for their fittings clean and sober. All fittings and standard alterations are done at our shop.

Every effort is made to alter garments at the time of pick-up. During the busy summer months, it may be necessary to pick up an altered tuxedo at a later time. Honestly, we've never sent a groom or groomsmen to the ceremony naked.
  • Tuxedo Returns
Make your best man feel important! Appoint him the official tuxedo returner. All tuxedos must be returned the day after the wedding. We will arrange for pick-up at local hotels or by appointment at our shop if your return date falls on a day we are closed.
  • Cancellation Policy

We know that there can be unforeseen circumstances that could cause cancellations of orders. We try to be understanding however; if the tuxedos have been shipped we cannot offer refunds. No refunds will be given for cancellations received seven (7) business days prior to the event date stated on your order.

We accept MasterCard and Visa; personal checks, money orders, travelers checks and of course, cash. Payments other than credit cards require verification by valid driver's license before the rented tuxedo leaves our shop.

Dress Pressing
